In this powerful and deeply personal talk, Terry will share his lived experience of growing up in care, moving between over 100 different places, and how these turbulent transitional pathways impact a young person's long-term physical and mental health. He will discuss how the search for stability, family, and relationships makes young care leavers uniquely vulnerable, yet also gives them immense potential when properly supported. 

Terry will share his dedicated mission to transform how we approach housing, education, and employment for care leavers, demonstrating how we can turn vulnerability into opportunity and drive systemic change. This talk is aimed at anyone interested in social innovation, healthcare, community support, and creating better pathways for vulnerable young people. Terry Galloway is a passionate campaigner and care leaver advocate. 

Driven by his own experiences in the care system and the memory of his late sister, Hazel Galloway, Terry dedicates his work to reforming care system transitional pathways and fighting for better health, housing, and life outcomes for care leavers across the country. 

Built in Notts weekly meetups are an open, friendly space for founders, students, tech professionals and anyone curious about ideas and innovation in Nottingham. Each week we come together to:
